Pong Eats: Cafe Juan Miguel

Hello! Today, we're featuring one of our newest discoveries in Cavite - Cafe Juan Miguel. 😊 It was my sister who introduced this spot to me and when I had the taste of their spring rolls, I fell in love with it right away. Just enough reason to share their foodie goodness on my blog. Yay!

CJM, Entrance

During our time of visit though, my fave Spring Roll was not available - a reason to come back. Yes? Definitely! We even had our to go pastas (snap below). 🍝

Staff were very nice. The place is cozy. You can chill with your friends, have a great chit-chat while indulging with good food. As I always say, almost everything is a best seller. Can't wait to try them all. Katakawan at its finest. Haha! They do accept reservations, too- for casual meals, private functions and on site catering. The place can accommodate 70 pax max. They have set menus ranging from PHP200/head to PHP400/head depending on your preference. Inquiring is the key. Go, give it a go!

Pong Eats: Quick Palabok Fix - Pastora Pancit Palabok

Hello! Finally, I found Pastora Pancit Palabok in Quinta Market, Quiapo Manila. I have been trying to go and look for their spot since 2017 (see my previous Pancit Malabon post). Thanks to my friend and kumare, Teng for accompanying me! 💜

the legendary Pastora Pancit Palabok @ PHP60

More than 30 years of Palabok godness, Pastora's stall in Quiapo is the only one that we have in the country. They have been featured in different TV shows and in a lot of blogs and newspapers but they still remain in their humble Quinta Market abode. Kuya said that their rent for the spot is P500/day. Sounds cheap, right? Or no? They have been offered to branch out but they opted to stay in Quiapo. Who knows, konting pilit pa? 😋

When I had the chance to have a taste of Pastora's, I knew I had to put in on my blog. Thanks, Wilmae for bringing it in the office! It took me forever to post, but better late than never! 😊

Their sauce does not have any shrimp content, so it's good for those who are allergic to it. Fatty Chicharon (pork crackling), tofu in achuete (annatto seeds), squid and hard boiled eggs are the toppings that their noodle has. Quite sinful, but sinful is good in moderation. Yes?  And this legendary palabok costs PHP60 only. Try it! 😋

Price list:
Short Order: PHP60 (ang dami, promise, you can share if you're on a diet)
Bilao: PHP450 (12 inches, 7-8 pax)
           PHP650 (13 inches 10-12 pax)
           PHP750 (14 inches, 12-13 pax)
           PHP850 (15 inches, 14-15 pax)
           PHP1000 (16 inches, 16-17 pax)
Halo-Halo: PHP60

Pong Eats: Sabino's Latin and Asian Bistro 😋

Hola! 😍

How is everyone? It's been ages, a lot has happened and my writing soul has a lot of things to share - LOL. Am starting with the easy and short one first - food.

I have eaten a lot and gained a lot of weight during my stint in Neenah. I was there for 5 weeks and God, I wanted to try everything! But for this post, I am featuring Sabino's. It's interior is a combination of Latin and Asian inspired theme. Music, too. I find it very relaxing and the feels that you are in a foreign place is there, too.

Sabino's Latin and Asian Bistro - the first time I saw this restaurant, I got excited. I knew I wanted to go. I fell in love with the place and the food. I mean, I can eat there everyday! I tried their Lomo Saltado and wow, it was soooo delish! Gone in a snap. Too bad, I didn't have a picture of it. That was the first thing I tried. Next, was their curry. They have 3 kinds - Sweet, Red and Green. The color denotes the level of spiciness. Green being the spiciest among the three. Not in the menu though is called the Fusion - this is the "in between" (spicy and not so spicy). So this is the one that I tried. It's still spicy (for me) but it's so yummy at the same time.

Pork Fusion Curry. Chips are free (+salsa dip)

Every Tuesday is a Taco Tuesday, so you can eat Tacos for as long as you could. 😋

Tried one of their desserts, too. I forgot what it's called. But it's like a fried ice cream - sinful, but delish. Thanks to Amanda for asking me to try! 😋

Fried Ice Cream (the cherry fell, lol)

I have some snaps to share. So, if you are in Neenah, make sure to drop by Sabino's. I highly recommend it. 😋

Find me! lol

Pong Eats: Kko Kko ㉿ (ft. Lai)

Hello everyone! 👀

Before 2017 ended, Lai and I had a catch-up eating session at this Korean restaurant near our offices. She liked it here, so, go. It's called Kko Kko - Home of Seoul Chicken. 🐔

Located in Ortigas Central Business District, it's has a cute and cozy spot in Garnet Road. It's not your typical Korean restaurant where you get to eat your Samgyupsal with lettuce, grill it yourself and stuff. You are allowed to cook noodles though (with a stove) - how cool is that, right? It's like doing a mukbang. 🍝

We tried the Chicken Cheese Fondue. It's the bomb! If you are a cheese lover, then this is for you. We had the spicy variant - has chicken, onion rings and fries and look at the cheese!!

Chicken Cheese Fondue

I am a fan of Samgyupsal. I ordered it and it is in a lunch-box type container. The taste is just fine, it has a sunny side-up egg on top. I still prefer it with lettuce though. (Hmm, was not able to ask if they have lettuce, maybe on my next visit)

Kko Kko's Samgyupsal  with Kimchi, Egg, and Anchovies

Lai had her fave, the Snow Chicken.

Snow Chicken - cheesy!

I have some snaps to share. Kko Kko - Home of Seoul Chicken is worth the try. If you happen to be in Ortigas, give it a go!

They have draft beer too

Some snaps on the wall

She knows what she wants. Chili Cheese! Okay?

Menu - a bit blur, sorry
